They lurked in an alcove away from the entry wearing body armor and weapons like military grade bling. I thought that they were the usual post-9/11 rent-a-cop. They reeked of unprofessionalism, fear, and hostility. My friend asked me if I thought they were ICE. Of course! They were at Home Depot to target day laborers. No day laborers waited at ICE Depot.
